Hello and welcome to my website. My name is Rachael.....better known as Artisan Geckos.

 

I'm a hobbyist Leopard and African Fat Tailed Gecko breeder, based on The Wirral, UK.

 

I first started keeping reptiles somewhere around 20 - 24 years ago, and have kept many reptiles including Bearded Dragons, Green Iguanas, Collared lizards, Kingsnakes, Ratsnakes, Royal Pythons, Rainbow Boas, and more recently i found Boa Constrictors, Leopard Geckos and African Fat taileds to be where my passion lies.

 

I work and have a family, but in my spare time i can be found pottering around looking after my many pets and generally boring people to death by talking about them...lots! Luckily most of my friends are also animal and reptile mad, so it doesn't really matter when i go off on one of my chatty assaults. The care and devotion i offer my geckos comes as standard. I love these enchanting little creatues and the way they are cared for and loved is of great importance to me. They are family members in my eyes, all be it -little scaley, cheeky, tongue pulling ones!

 

I believe in feeding them a varied, well gutloaded diet, as this will give them an array of nutrients to keep them healthy and at their best.

Mine are fed on Mealworms and Dubia roach nymphs from young,  Then Morio worms, adult Dubia, The odd Locust an Wax worms as a treat when older/adult. I don't feed Crickets of any type as they smell god awful, bite sleeping geckos, and also it is thought they they are carriers of the pinworm parasite.

 

Equal time is dedicated to each and every one of them, gecko hugs & snuggles are one of the many perks of keeping these bewitching little angels with big puppy dog eyes, so as a result....any gecko that you have from me will be a well adjusted indivdual, handled in a family setting and used to the people and noises of a busy household.

 

My main aim in deciding to breed geckos is to better enhance the look of the lines i keep...which is mostly focused around the Eclipse/Snow/Tremper & RAPTOR morphs.

 

I am a busy promoter of a high standard of care and creative ways to add enrichment into the very one dimensonal setting of a wooden vivarium. There is so much you can do to better the quality of life your gecko has, Wether it's knocking together a very simple and easy to make platform to increase floor space, or going mad and putting several shelves up at different levels with walkways.......you don't have to be amazing at DIY to do a few simple things to make llfe better for your pets.
